1. What is Calcium

Calcium is the most in a body. It is occupied 1.8% in the body.

Calcium belongs to metal, but the calcium in the body exist as crystals combined with phosphorus.

Calcium is the biggest part of mineral in our body. 99% of calcium is in bones and the rest 1% in

blood.

2. Why should we have calcium


  • Osteoporosis  -When a body feels lacking calcium, Paratormine which is hormone take calcium from bones. Calcium does a lot of tasks, so if it is not enough, the body will take calcium from bones right away. 

  • Cavity and Gum disease  - As I said above, lacking calcium makes bone weaker, because the body takes calcium from bones. This process affects all bones in our body include teeth.

  • Skin disease - Cell of skin consists of protein, enzyme, and lipid. Calcium manages the amount of those things.  If we lack calcium, our skin hardly makes fatty protection for skin, so the skin will be dry and making inflammation.

The daily recommendation for an adult is 700-800mg a day.

If you eat 500-600mg a day, That is better than too much.
